VINCENTOWN, N.J. (May 15, 2023) - Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports added another mark to the top-ten column on Sunday night at Selinsgrove Speedway, a top-five mark at that, finishing fifth in the speedway’s annual Ray Tilley Classic that featured not only a stout Pennsylvania contingent, but a select national invader.
Whittall, ace of his own JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, Prime Composite Innovations, K Seal, No. 67 sprint car, started seventh in his top-five pursuit, working forward to lock down his top performance of the year, simultaneously bumping his season’s top-ten total to six.
The Selinsgrove Speedway result acted as a great rebound for the Vincentown, New Jersey-based open wheel program, as the team was unable to qualify for World of Outlaws main event competition at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 12; they were 12th in the Last Chance Showdown.
“It was a great way to cap the weekend. We’re getting closer and closer to that first win of the season,” Whittall said. “Hats off to this team. It can be tough when racing with the Outlaws, but to rebound for a top-five just a few nights later says so much. We’ll work to keep these results coming.”
ON DECK:
Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports will continue their 2023 campaign with another routine weekend in the Keystone State, set to visit Williams Grove Speedway ($5,000-to-win) on Friday, May 19, and Port Royal Speedway ($6,000-to-win) on Saturday, May 20.
