Whittall caps 2023 campaign with runner-up score in SprintOberfest’s Non-Winners segment

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (October 30, 2023) - Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports capped their 2023 season in a positive manner, not only competing in their home state of New Jersey, but ultimately highlighting their weekend at Bridgeport Motorsports Park with a runner-up performance in the facility’s SprintOberfest Non-Winners segment on Friday, October 27. Whittall, who hails from nearby Vincentown, was nearly victorious in his eventual runner-up outcome, keeping himself in contention with a persistent, side-by-side battle with Lincoln University, Pennsylvania’s Tyler Ross.

Unfortunately, Whittall’s attempt in Bridgeport’s SprintOberfest finale the following evening ended as a dreaded DNF, concluding the 40-lap, $15,000-to-win program on lap 19 after battling as high as fifth; accidental contact with another competitor was the catalyst.

Although several weeks of Whittall’s 2023 season were forced to take a backseat to concussion protocol, the former Port Royal Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway winner concluded the year with an array of highlights, scoring 14 top-ten finishes in total with three of those accumulated within the top five. Whittall’s prized accomplishment occurred at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track - Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio - where The Garden State wheelman qualified for the $1,002,023-to-win Eldora Million main event; he raced on to finish 16th.

“To end our season in New Jersey is pretty special, especially with such a strong showing on Friday night,” Whittall, ace of the JG Kronenberger Fine Jewelry, Mid-Atlantic Transport, Pioneer Auto Body, Worldwide Bearings, Enterprise, Prime Composite Innovations, K Seal, No. 67 sprint car, said. “I’m proud of our team and what we were able to accomplish this year. It takes a lot of work and dedication to prepare a team to compete in Central Pennsylvania, and I’ve been fortunate to be surrounded by a lot of great people who make that possible. It’s a short off-season, but the plan is to get to work right away.”
