Career best for Whittall

Justin Whittall and the Atlantic Utility Trailers Sales Inc., World Wide Bearings, Pioneer Auto Body 67w headed to the hard clay of Orange County Fair Speedway on Saturday night to race with the Capitol Renegade United Racing Club and came home with a career best 3rd place finish.

With 21 cars on hand, Whittall started on the pole for heat race 2, and went on the lead every lap picking up the win. Whittall also laid down the second fastest lap of the heat races. By his heat race win, Whittall headed to the redraw.

After redrawing the number 6 pill, Whittall started in the 6th position for the 25-lap feature event. On the start, Whittall settled into the 6th place position before advancing into the top 5 by passing Troy Betts on lap 9. Whittall continued to race in the 5th position before passing the 33 of Bill Unglert and advancing into the 4th position. Whittall used a late race pass to take 3rd from URC part timer Scott Flammer on lap 21. After the feature, an elated Whittall reported that the car was running great and he wished he had some more laps to see if he had anything for 2nd place Curt Michael.

Whittall will return to URC competition when the series heads to the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night September 1st. Then on Saturday the 67w team will head to Selinsgrove Speedway before rounding out the weekend at Path Valley Speedway on Sunday September 3rd.
