Rain plagues Michigan trip; Williams Grove Speedway start ahead for Justin Whittall

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (July 24, 2018) – Justin Whittall’s return to sprint car competition was short, and wet, losing all three Great Lakes Super Sprints events to Mother Nature during his trip to Michigan on July 20-22. The only event contested over the course of the three-day weekend was a heat race at I-96 Speedway on Sunday; Whittall finished fourth.
The pilot of the JW Motorsports/Atlantic Utility Trailer/Brotherton Brewing Company/Pioneer Auto Body/Worldwide Bearings/No. 67 sprint car will now look ahead and begin preparations for a visit to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 27; Whittall’s second visit of the season to the world-famous half-mile. The Vincentown, N.J., native last visited Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, May 4. Unfortunately, Whittall’s night ended during B-main competition, unable to qualify for the ASCS National Tour main event.
“It’s a little frustrating to travel that far and not get to race a feature,” Whittall said of his Michigan trip. “ It’s obviously out of anyone’s control. Hopefully Mother Nature gives us a little bit of a break during the next few months. I’m itching to get back to racing. It has been too long. Missing all that time due to my concussion left me impatient.”
