Whittall helps Posse nearly sweep top-five in Port’s Nittany Showdown opener

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

VINCENTOWN, N.J. (October 10, 2022) - Vincentown, New Jersey’s Justin Whittall and JW Motorsports helped the Pennsylvania Posse achieve an incredible feat on Friday night at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace,” fending off charges from some of the best in the business to sweep the top four positions in Port Royal Speedway’s Nittany Showdown opener on Friday, October 7.

Whittall, who finished fourth in the 25-lap affair for a breakout result against the Greatest Show On Dirt, started second on the $10,000-to-win grid, battling head-to-head with ten-time WoO Series champion, Donny Schatz, and eventual weekend winner, Anthony Macri, in the evening’s dash. A runner-up performance during Whittall’s respective heat race allowed for the eventual dash appearance.

Incidentally, Whittall’s performance in the $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions also resulted in a fourth-place finish; another breakout result.

Unfortunately, Justin Whittall’s run of success with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series would come to a screeching halt Saturday night in the $15,000-to-win Nittany Showdown finale, as heavy damage was accumulated during an A-Main incident; he was scored 23rd.

“What a run on Friday night…feels incredible to put together a performance like that,” Whittall said, a former Williams Grove Speedway winner. “I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work and support in 2022. We’ve had some down spots here and there, but the highlights certainly make up for everything. The back half of our season has been pretty incredible and we’re looking forward to transferring this momentum into 2023.”
